I'll provide a simplified overview of the process, and you can adjust the parameters to achieve the desired effect. Here's how you can set it up: Create a Particle Emitter: In your Houdini project, use an object or geometry to act as the source for your explosion. For example, a sphere can represent the initial explosion shape. Create a new particle emitter by using the "Particle Emitter" node. This node will release particles over time. Particle Emission Parameters: Inside the Particle Emitter node, you can adjust several parameters: Set the "Emitter Type" to "Volume" to emit particles from the entire volume of the source. Set the "Emit Life" to control how long particles live. Adjust the "Emit Rate" to control the number of particles per frame. Configure other parameters as needed, such as "Initial Velocity," "Size," and "Scale" to fit your explosion. Add Noise to Burn and Temperature Fields: To add noise to the burn and temperature fields, use the "Gas Turbulence" or "Gas Disturbance" nodes in your DOP network. Connect them to the "pyro solver." Configure the "Gas Turbulence" or "Gas Disturbance" nodes with the following settings: Set the "Field" parameter to "burn" or "temperature," depending on which field you want to add noise to. Adjust the "Frequency" and "Amplitude" parameters to control the strength and scale of the noise. You can keyframe these parameters to create varying noise patterns over time. Create a DOP Network: Use a "DOP Network" to simulate the behavior of particles and fields. Inside the DOP Network, set up a "Pyro Solver" node to handle the simulation of the explosion. Make sure to include the "burn" and "temperature" fields. Render the Explosion: Finally, set up a rendering network to visualize your explosion. You can use the "pyro import" or "pyro shader" nodes to render the pyro fields created during the simulation. Configure lighting, shading, and other rendering settings as needed. Simulate and Adjust: Simulate your explosion by running the DOP network. You may need to iterate and adjust the parameters of the Particle Emitter and Gas nodes to achieve the desired look. Use the viewport or the "Render View" to preview the explosion, and make any necessary adjustments. Remember that the specific parameters and settings will depend on the scale and complexity of your explosion, as well as the visual style you want to achieve. Experiment with different values to create the explosion that fits your project's requirements.
